Last week, Twitter launched their new “Super Follows” feature to allow qualifying users to generate revenue from followers via a subscription model. These users will be able to set subscription fees at $2.99, $4.99, or $9.99 per month, and will initially be made available to select creators in the US, although any iOS user in both Canada and US can be a super follower to these creators.

As of now, the feature will only allow for bonus content in the form of tweets, but Twitter says “As we roll out further, we hope to include Spaces, newsletters and other Twitter features as potential bonus content.”

In terms of eligibility, there are three key requirements:

  1. Be 18 years or older
  2. Have at least 10K followers
  3. Have Tweeted at least 25 times in the past 30 days

The feature is part of Twitter’s push toward their goal of $7.5 billion in annual revenue and 315 monetizeable daily active users by end of 2023.
